As we gather together this evening to celebrate the love we share for our community’s animals, we are reminded of what a gift tonight is. Over the past year we’ve come to value our friends, our supporters and our team even more than ever – which seems impossible in itself. Although physical barriers have kept us apart, our community has never been closer.
While we have no way of knowing what the future may hold, in this moment, we can imagine that tonight’s event will launch us into the courageous new world we have been anticipating — a time when we can move among each other more freely, when the animals at our Shelter can again be tenderly cared for by our long-absent team of volunteers, and the routines that symbolize stability and normalcy can begin to fall back into place.
While our purpose as an organization has not changed — we have. We’ve learned how much more we are capable of — how many more animals we can help, how many more lives we can save, how much farther we can reach to lend support to those who need us most – the people and animals of the Coachella Valley.
Your belief in us gave us the grit and determination to overcome the fears of the past year and embrace a future full of infinite possibilities.
Thank you.
Gratefully,
Board President
