Bernie is a sweet, gentle boy who is looking for a patient person to help him blossom. While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, don’t let his reserved first impression fool you—once he realizes you’re a friend, he warms up quickly and happily lets his personality shine.
Bernie loves spending time with other dogs and does great in playgroups. He currently shares his kennel with a canine roommate and has also been around small dogs successfully. Having another friendly, confident dog in the home could help him continue building his confidence.
Bernie has been working hard on his leash skills and has made wonderful progress. He now walks nicely outdoors, although indoor flooring can still make him a little uncertain. With a little patience and encouragement, he continues to gain confidence every day.
Because Bernie would benefit from settling into a home before making a lifelong commitment, he is available as a Foster-to-Adopt candidate. This gives both Bernie and his future family the opportunity to ensure it’s the perfect match while helping him continue to thrive in a home environment.
