Meet Tidus!
Tidus is a young adolescent pup with the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and professional couch-potato skills. He’s affectionate, curious, and generous with his kisses—and once he feels at home, expect to have a handsome little shadow following you from room to room.
Tidus loves getting out and exploring. During his foster stay, he spent an hour strolling through downtown Palm Springs and even enjoyed an afternoon adventure in Idyllwild. He handled dog-friendly stores, restaurants, and coffee shops beautifully. He walks nicely on leash overall, although birds and lizards can occasionally activate his puppy enthusiasm and put a little extra spring—and pull—in his step.
He’s also a social guy. Tidus is playful and friendly with dogs both big and small and does well meeting new people. He can be slightly more cautious when first meeting men, but with a gentle approach and a little time, he warms up quickly.
At home, Tidus is an affectionate companion who is happy to settle down after his exercise and playtime. He’ll often lie quietly at your feet while you’re cooking or eating rather than begging—although his height and puppy curiosity mean you’ll want to keep tempting treasures away from the edge of the kitchen counter! He loves squeaky toys, enrichment activities, watching TV, and, in true puppy fashion, occasionally deciding that socks and shoes should also qualify as toys.
Tidus is potty trained and had only one small accident on his first day in foster. He slept through the night without needing potty breaks. He also does very well in his crate when his foster leaves the house, showing no signs of distress or destructive behavior. When allowed to sleep on the bed, he happily settled into one spot and slept peacefully through the night.
Road trip buddy? Absolutely. Tidus rides well in the car, enjoys some fresh air from the window, and does well secured with a dog seatbelt. His favorite position may be playing copilot, with his head adorably appearing between the front seats to see what everyone is doing. He’s looking for a family ready to continue guiding him through the last of his puppy manners while enjoying everything he already brings to the table: adventure buddy, playmate, cuddle companion, and loyal little shadow—all rolled into one very handsome pup.
