Our volunteer program is made up of dedicated volunteers who assist our staff in a variety of roles. Monthly or weekly hour minimums vary by program, but please plan to spend at least six hours a month volunteering.

PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers ages 12 to 17 can apply but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who is also an approved volunteer, at all times while volunteering.

OTHER VOLUNTEER POSITION TYPES
Through pre-approved programs in conjunction with the Palm Springs Unified School District and College of the Desert we offer a limited amount of externship opportunities. Your programs director will connect you directly with our Volunteer Engagement Specialist to begin the process.
COURT ORDERED VOLUNTEERS
We do accept court ordered volunteering (community service) with the condition that hours will only be completed through Kitchen and Laundry. To sign-up please follow the steps to become a volunteer.
GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Organizations are welcome to schedule an hour long activity that focuses on enrichment for the animals in our care. To sign your group up please have your team lead contact our Volunteer Engagement Specialist.
